Chiropractors: Kerry Sissins & Mathew Cowburn

Mathew Cowburn

I have been a chiropractor now for over 17 years and have been developing my skills in many places including Australia, U.K., Spain and Hong Kong. I have learned many techniques including some of the techniques Kerry utilises to turn up your bodies healing capacity. In all my experience I have gained a better understanding into how important it is to have a proper functioning spine and nervous system, in order to experience true vitality and health. It never ceases to amaze me just how powerful the body becomes by improving the health, function and strength of the spine and nervous system.

Kerry Sissins

Kerry Sissins is a licensed Chiropractor based in Banbury serving the four shires community. As a Chiropractor with 21 years experience, Kerry Sissins is committed to promoting optimal health and well being of our patients and helping them achieve their health goals.

Kerry uses her vast experience in practice and her further education and postgraduate study in Chiropractic Neurology (one of only a handful in the UK to have passed this intensive two year programme of postgraduate study) to assess the "whole person". She has a "why" approach to her care. As she says, "Understanding the symptoms is very important to each and every patient, but in order to be successful in not only alleviating these, but to then create a successful plan to really change the way you function over the long term so your body can heal and to reduce the risk of reoccurrence, it is essential to get to the bottom of why things have broken down in the first place". This approach means looking at many things; some of which are obviously related and others that may appear completely unrelated, but which may give insight to the underlying causes of any disturbance or disruption. A specific programme of care is then recommended, to include adjustments, exercise and lifestyle changes that we know will optimise the conditions for you to be your best. Using this unique approach, Kerry is able to help you to accelerate and/or maintain your journey to good health.

As a former athlete (she captained the GB Women's Softball Team from 1997-1999) Kerry enjoys being active. She also has first-hand experience in understanding the role Chiropractic can play in helping athletes maximise
their performance and reduce the risk of injury.

As a busy Mum to three young boys she understands the pressures of Parenthood and how we all want the best for our children. Using her knowledge of Chiropractic neurology, she is committed to educating as many parents as possible in how important a well connected nervous system is in allowing children to develop to their full potential, and in helping children with developmental delay.

As the Team Chiropractor for the Australian Ice Hockey Team in the early 1990's and thereafter the GB Women's Softball Team, Kerry has a lot of experience in sports Chiropractic. Not only from an injury perspective, but, at an elite level, in maximizing and enhancing performance. She is one of only a handful of UK Chiropractors who have successfully passed the intensive two year course of study in Chiropractic Neurology (1997). With this knowledge she has worked successfully with children with developmental and behavioural disorders and is passionate about checking babies and young children in the first two years of life when their nervous system is at its most changeable.
